MCC Athletics announces Academic All-Region honors
The Marshalltown Community College athletic department has been informed by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) that 84 MCC student-athletes qualified for Fall Academic All-Region honors. First Team honorees must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 to 4.0, and Second Team honorees must have a 3.0 to 3.49 GPA.

The Tiger baseball team qualified 19 players: First Team honorees include Adam Carmichael of Whitby, Ontario, Canada; Anderson Schirm of Grinnell, IA; Brady Baker of Sioux City, IA; Chase Bauer of Ramsey, MN; Cole Knewston of Minnetonka MN; Cullen Krueger of Rogers, MN; Gabe Weighner of Waukon, IA; Ian Rodriguez of Vega Alta, PR; Jack Hilgenberg of Wapello, IA; Jack Riley of Sioux Falls, SD; Justin Dandeneau of Hanmer, Ontario, Canada; Sauyer Thompson of Omaha, NE; Tony DiRienzo of Prairie View, CO; and Treyton Cook of Council Bluffs, IA. Second Team honorees include Andrew Sokoll of Mahtomedi MN; Konner Hoelting of Norwalk IA; Nolan Johnson of New London Spicer, MN; Tyler Hand of Totino Grace, MN; and Wyatt Hoelting of Linwood, KS.
The men's basketball team qualified six players: First Team honorees include Alejandro Martinez of Los Santos de Maimona, Spain; Manuel Santos of Madrid, Spain; Pavle Djeric of Podgorica, Montenegro; and Sean Conway of Cleveland, OH. Second Team honorees include Chason St. Vil of Cambria Heights, NY; and Jose Carvalho of Rio de Janairo, Brazil.
The women's basketball team qualified four players: First Team honoree Ariyanah Custard of Las Vegas, NV. Second Team honorees include Shenell Stewart of Nassau, Bahamas; Amijah Nelson of Las Vegas, NV; and Olivia Heartwell of Anchorage, AK.
