Gonnerman earns second ICCAC Pitcher of the Week honor
For the second time in three weeks, sophomore Kolton Gonnerman (Centerville, IA/Centerville) of the Marshalltown Community College Baseball team has been tabbed as the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Pitcher of the Week.
For the second time in three weeks, sophomore Kolton Gonnerman (Centerville, IA/Centerville) of the Marshalltown Community College Baseball team has been tabbed as the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Pitcher of the Week.
Gonnerman posted a pair of wins last week for the Tigers (13-7), allowing just one earned run along the way. Gonnerman extended his scoreless innings streak to 15.2 before allowing a run on Sunday against Southwestern Community College.
In a 6-0 win over Westchester Community College on March 14, Gonnerman tossed six innings of scoreless ball while striking out a career-high nine batters and not issuing a walk. Gonnerman won his third-straight start in a 6-1 win over Southwestern on March 20. The sophomore spun six innings with six strikeouts and just four hits allowed.
Gonnerman's season earned run average currently sits at a conference-best 1.71 on the year with a 3-0 record. The sophomore's 26 strikeouts on the season rank third in the league.
MCC returns to play on March 29 at home against North Iowa Area Community College.
