MARSHALLTOWN – The Marshalltown Community College Tiger soccer team secured a solid 2-0 victory on the road today against State Fair Community College, with both goals coming in the first half of play.
The Tigers' offense started strong, with Enrico Borges finding the back of the net for the first goal, assisted by Dominic Capla. The second goal came from a penalty kick successfully converted by Pedro Macedo, giving the Tigers a comfortable lead before halftime.
The second half was a defensive battle with no further scoring from either team. The Tigers' defense held strong, and goalkeeper Tim Albrecht played a crucial role, making three key saves to secure the shutout.
MCC will look to build on this momentum as they continue their road series tomorrow at Metropolitan Community College at noon.
