The Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team has reason to celebrate its perfect start to the 2025-26 season, thanks in large part to freshman guard Jaeda Turner, who has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week.
Turner, a freshman from Milwaukee, WI, made her presence known in her first two collegiate contests, leading the Tigers to back-to-back victories.
Turner delivered an outstanding offensive performance over the weekend, compiling a remarkable 53 points across the two games. She opened the season with 20 points against Milwaukee Area Technical College, fueling a 20-point win for the Tigers. She followed that up with a 33-point game against Highland (IL), securing an 11-point victory and a 2-0 record for the Tigers.
The versatile guard was dominant on both ends of the court, showcasing efficiency and defensive prowess. Turner shot 8-for-18 from 3-point range and consistently filled the stat sheet, averaging 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals in her debut weekend.
MCC will look to build on this momentum and Turner's standout play this upcoming weekend when they return to action against St. Louis (MO) and North Central (MO).
