The Tigers showcased their offensive firepower and defensive tenacity from the opening tip, establishing a massive lead by the break. MCC entered the locker room at halftime with a commanding 36-12 lead, setting the tone for the rest of the game.
They maintained their intensity throughout the second half, cruising to a final score of 70-36.
MCC showed the team's balanced effort. The Tigers were highly effective from the field, shooting 39.7% (23-for-58), and a strong 80.0% (16-for-20) from the free-throw line.
MCC had three players scoring double figures. Jaeda Turner and Shenell Stewart each with 14 and Ariyanah Custard with 10. Kenijae Cherry dominated the boards with 19 rebounds.
MCC dominated the glass, pulling down 53 total rebounds compared to their opponent's 38, demonstrating their physical edge. They also moved the ball effectively, logging 14 assists for the game. Defensively, the Tigers forced 24 turnovers, recorded 15 steals, and rejected 3 shots, leading to 24 points off turnovers. The team's deep bench contributed significantly, with 25 points coming from non-starters.
The Tigers look to carry this momentum into their game today as they continue on the road with a 2 pm tip off against North Central Missouri College.
