The Marshalltown Community College Tiger Men's Basketball team secured a hard-fought 73-64 victory over the William Penn University JV Statesmen last night.
The Tigers were efficient on the offensive end, shooting 53% from the field and 80% from the free-throw line. Tom Guma led all scorers with 20 points, including a perfect 5-for-5 at the charity stripe.
Forward Hassan Bush posted a strong performance with 16 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. Pavle Djeric and Antoine Glasper were both in double figures for the Tigers with Glasper with 11 and Djeric with 10.
The Tigers will be on the road for their next two games, traveling to Ottumwa, IA, for a tournament this coming weekend at Indian Hills. They will face North Dakota State College of Science on Friday, Dec. 5, at 4:30 pm, and Lake Region State College – ND on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 1:00 pm.
